Chauffeur

It was more like a politician lobbying for voters before an election day. That's how it was driving my parents to circulate the wedding card of our brother. Yes..... its the final wedding of the Arumugam clan. So far I am enjoying being a chauffeur. One of the reason......I get to see faces and places that I have missed out for about 20 years. Its like "now you see....now you don't". Smooth faces has wrinkles now. Few died. Tree's disappeared. Bend roads are straight. Cattle's are not going astray. Miles and miles of empty lands. Rubber trees uprooted and all you can see is temples left all alone without the estate's. Everyone seems to be living in a developed housing area. "Kampung's" lost its green. Its like a canvas painted in brown.

During this stopovers, I get to see a weird " Jantung Pisang" at one of the homes we stopped. Its like the "Jantung Pisang" is against the law of gravity. Its pointing towards sky. Not sure if its heaven or hell. Call me ignorant if you have seen this in your life. :-) Totally weird stuff to me.

I strongly believe in our community its a must to handout an invitation card regardless of friends, relatives or foes. Differences in opinion, animosities and past flared up moments should be graved by coming together. A sincere unconditional blessing's to the bride and groom should be shown. That is how wedding's used to be in the past. Folks used to feel honored when invited. The community unites as one in a wedding ceremony. A successful wedding usually labels the strength and unity of that particular community. Nowadays it is more of an individual effort. Wedding ceremony has become very costly in the name of earning blessing's. Yet it remains as an important ritual in our life and society.
